Easy *backend* sales that save you time and energy

[Jump to the middle for my three backend sales strategies mentioned in the title.]

What my client S shared following our first week in Make Money Whilst Doing Good:

In just our first week together my clients have:

  • Set their profitable 2025 income goal and they'll create it with their current offers and audience (aka simply)

  • They've identified what their expansive income goals for Jan, Feb and March are and exactly what they need to do to achieve them (e.g. plugging some gaps in their sales processes; mastering their messaging; selling in the backend; sharing more stories and testimonials; upselling; reengaging their existing audience with one free content event)

  • We've reviewed their offer suites and all their price points to make sure they feel aligned and work for their business - in most cases they will increase their 1:1 prices incrementally as they feel more confident to do so (to tip if you're struggling to just increase your prices to where they probably should be)

  • Reviewed their copy and messaging for all their key offers

  • And I've shared simple, strategic ways to fill the gaps in their business for regular sales without constantly launching or being *on* in their business

And none of these things requires them to spend more in their business. In fact we're actually implementing strategies that will allow them to work less (on their business and if desired more time with their clients).

  1. Add an upsell on the sales page (or in a follow email sequence) using an existing offer. If a client buys something from you, is there something else that would likely be a useful next step for them?

  2. Uplevel your existing clients » Focus on getting your existing clients results (that they want and see) in your current programmes and then introduce them (early) to your “next level” of offer. For example if you have people in a course or membership, talk to them directly about your 1:1 or mastermind possibly offering them a discount to “uplevel” (possibly using what they’ve already paid in the membership/course towards the price of the 1:1/mastermind)

  3. Drop the “launch” cycle, have everything open all the time and set up your “Everything” page (credit to Lizzie Goddard here who I learnt this from). An everything page is where all your offers are available for people to view and buy from at anytime (which you can link to in your emails; on blogs; and on social media etc). Rather than just directing them to one offer at a time, which might not be a good fit. If people are resonating with you and your content but your specific offer is not right for them - they likely want to know what else you have on offer, so make it super easy for them to find!
