How to create more sales this week (and for the next 6 months)
Despite the title this is not a blog about how to make quick sales with one or two tactics this week. Although sales can happen if you practice and implement what I'm about to share, one of the biggest mistake I see purpose-driven entrepreneurs making is expecting sales from a single post on social media, from a single email sent once in a blue moon to their mailing list, to a speaking engagement or pitching on a podcast episode.
Yes you can get instant sales from each of these activities, I've had all these things happen to me BUT the power of an entrepreneur is realizing that creating sales habits is what transforms the regularity and growth of sales and revenue in your business.
If you're giving up and moving on to creating the next thing, worrying about the price or querying whether anybody even wants what you have to offer everyday just because you didn't make a sale from that post or email you sent yesterday you're approaching business all wrong.
Your success is in taking the action consistently (sales habit building).
Your success is about reviewing what activities over a period of time are making a difference an doubling down on them.
Your success is about finding the gaps in your sales approach, that sometimes just need tiny tweaks to make huge results.
So I'm not promising quick sales this week if you answer the following questions and implement your own actions, but you're consistent in building daily sales activities as a habit you will see incremental changes in how many sales you start getting this week, next month and over the next few months. Keep chipping away, keep looking at the data, and keep making progress.
Here's the questions I ask my clients:
Which services/offers has the vast majority of your income and sales come from in the past 6-12 months? (Look at the data!) Would you like to focus more on selling these things? If so, great, if not - why not?
What sales (and marketing) activities have really worked for you in the past 3-6 months? What things obviously brought in a change in results / sales? (Have you been tracking what you've been doing? If not start here - this data really matters).
Where could you build more consistency in your sales activity? What would you need to do to start feeling uncomfortable in your sales activity?
Which part of your sales process do you often feel "stuck" in? Marketing (positioning you / your service as their solution), lead generation, nurturing, pitching / selling, closing, retaining the client? When you know this you can work on improving that part of the process.
How else could you be reaching / growing your audience? (Please think beyond social media!) Make a list of at least 10 things you could try over the next few weeks. Want some ideas? Then email me back with a little bit about your business, what you've already tried and I'll reply with some tailored suggestions.
What would be the easiest thing to sell right now? What offer/service are you in love with? How could you go all in on selling that for 4-6 weeks?
How are you keeping your audience regularly engaged with your wisdom and the results you can help them create?
(If you're not selling at all at the moment - What's really going on? What's really blocking you? If you want a quick coaching call, I'd be happy to offer 15-20 minutes to unlock this).
Let me know how these questions land for you? What else comes up as you answer them?
I'm always here to help just get in touch.
